It has 2 slit (open) pockets on bottom, and small, flat zipper pockets on top.I downgraded it one star for 2 reasons: The fabric appears to be shiny in the photos. It isn't, it's more of a flat finish and I think it would look dressier if it had a sheen. The hood is very deep. It has an adjustment on top which you can use to pull it in, but it's still huge on me! (and I'm not petite!) The hood zips off, leaving a stand up collar. Nice surprise! I ordered a Large, and it's a good fit. Had I been in a store, I would have tried the XL, since I like coats roomy. I need to try this with bulky sweaters to be sure it will be OK. I'm a size 8/10 pant, and a 10/12 blouse. One more thing for those for whom this may make a difference: it does not have windbreaker sleeves inside. I have been in the market for a down coat for a while. The one I own I love, but it only comes to my waist. I found this coat on Amazon about four weeks ago, and was prepared to order it, but wanted to see if the price dropped (as they often do on Amazon). Welp, last week, it dropped by $60 and it took a lot of restraint to not get two colors! I picked up the Loden shade which I expected to be a metallic bronze (like the photo), but it's really more of an army green. Which I really like! I am 5-ft tall and it hits near my knees, but I don't feel as though I'm drowning in coat. The down is very warm. I have missed my bus stop twice in the last week, and I know it's been a combo of the heat on my commuter bus and the warmth of this coat.
